2020 Food For Thought

Food for Thought logo

Almost everything we eat begins with something that’s growing… A lot of the environmental issues we face can be solved by an implementing more sustainable food system

The Food for Thought project, which was supported by The National Lottery Community Fund NI, was delivered by Live Here Love Here from July to December 2020. We partnered with The Conservation Volunteers and Belfast Food Network to provide 550 Food for Thought resource packs, which help groups and individuals explore the joys of growing food.

Growing food has numerous benefits, including physical and mental health, gentle exercise, and, most importantly, the incredible taste of freshly picked produce. Throughout the program, we developed webinars, toolkits, and how-to videos to help people get started with growing their own food. We also provided simple methods for using the produce you grow because, when food is that fresh and tasty, there's no need to complicate things!

Although the programme is now complete, the Food for Thought kit is still available in the spring months through the Adopt A Spot project. Find out more here.

You can also find helpful tips in the Food For Thought booklet or follow our growing advice in the videos and recordings of the live webinars here!
